Frequently Asked Questions
When do the Kodiaks hold tryouts?
Tryouts are in the Fall. Dates and times are posted on our website. Our rosters are selected based on positions at tryouts. Players may lose their spot on the team should they switch positions before the spring hockey season. Any questions, please email [email protected].
Who are the skills providers for the Kodiaks?
All skills sessions are instructed by Vancouver Hockey School coaches.
Where and when do the Kodiaks practice?
Our home ice rink is the Richmond Ice Center in Richmond B.C. Practices are weekday evenings. We do our best to leave weekends open for kids who play baseball, lacrosse, and for family time.
What level are the Kodiaks?
The Kodiaks have teams in both the Elite (AAA) and AA divisions. Our Prep Teams compete in the highest tournaments brackets. Our Varsity (AA) teams compete against teams of equal calibre.
Do the Kodiaks offer skills training for goalies?
Yes. The Kodiaks official goalie development company is PROformance Goalie Schools.
Can I play for another spring program and the Kodiaks?
We ask for full 9 weeks commitment from all Kodiaks players. Kodiaks players are asked to play for one tournament team during the Kodiaks April-June schedule. This does not include skills coaches and goalie coaches. If you want to play for more than one tournament team April-June the Kodiaks program might not be the best fit for your child.
